February's Education Hint
Let's talk about love. People love all sorts of things: sports, movies, chocolate. If you are really lucky you will grow up and get a job that you love to do. Teachers teach because they love to teach. They are not in it for the big bucks. People go into teaching because what they want to do is more important than the money. Their bank accounts will not overflow.
The teacher who does all the talking is teaching at you. That teacher needs to be the boss of the room. You may learn from him and you may not.
The teacher who welcomes questions and takes the time to answer them is really teaching you. I believe myself to be such a teacher and yet here I sit speaking to people but not knowing if you hear me or if I make any impact on your education. So, if you have an academic question that your teacher has not answered to your satisfaction,
email me your question. I will answer you as quickly and thoroughly as I can. Go to Ask the Teacher. Give me five things: the age and grade and email address of the questioner, the academic subject(s) and the question(s) in detail.
Be patient. I will get back to you as quickly as I can. One questioner per email, please.
Also note that Poetry is the language of love. For this reason, the Poetry Packet is FREE this month.
